Frequently Asked Questions
How does mobile grooming work?
Snout Dispatch comes directly to your home in our fully equipped mobile grooming salon. Your dog receives a private, one-on-one appointment right outside your door—no car rides, cages, or waiting around at a busy salon.
How do I book an appointment?
Appointments can be booked online at your convenience, by email or calling us directly at 714-912-6200. If you have questions or need a little help choosing the right service, feel free to contact us and we’ll be happy to assist.
Do I need to be home during the appointment?
We’ll need someone available for your dog’s initial handoff unless other arrangements have been made in advance.
How long does an appointment take?
Appointment times vary depending on your dog’s size, coat, service, temperament, and individual grooming needs. Most appointments take approximately 1–3 hours.
Are the prices listed on the Booking website final?
Final pricing may vary based on your dog’s size, coat length and condition, temperament, grooming history, and the time required to complete the service comfortably and safely. Please feel free to give us a call if you have any questions about pricing.
How often should my dog be groomed?
Every dog is a little different. Coat type, haircut, lifestyle, and maintenance at home all play a role, but many dogs do best on a regular 4–8 week grooming schedule. We’re happy to recommend a schedule that works for your dog.
What if my dog is nervous about grooming?
That’s okay. Every dog is approached individually and given the time and patience they need. Our one-on-one mobile environment can be especially helpful for dogs who find busy salons overwhelming. If at any point continuing the appointment would not be safe or comfortable for your dog, we may modify or discontinue the service.
What happens if my dog is matted?
Your dog’s comfort and safety always come first. If significant matting is discovered, we’ll discuss the best course of action with you before proceeding with a substantial shave-down. Additional time or charges may apply depending on the condition of the coat.
What happens if my dog has fleas?
If fleas are discovered during the appointment, a flea shampoo treatment may be required and an additional charge will apply. This helps protect your dog, our equipment, and the dogs we see afterward.
Does my dog need to be vaccinated?
Dogs 4 months of age and older must have a current rabies vaccination as required by law. Proof of vaccination may be requested prior to the appointment. We do recommend an updated DHPP/DAPP but it is not required. Please contact us if you have questions about your dog’s vaccination status or documentation.
What is included in my dog’s appointment?
Each Snout Dispatch service is intentionally all-inclusive, with the grooming essentials and finishing touches your dog needs already built into the appointment. That means no picking through a long list of upgrades and no pressure to add more at checkout. The only additional charges that may apply are for significant de-matting, flea treatment, or when a dog requires extra time and handling to complete the service safely and comfortably. If any of these apply, we’ll always communicate them clearly. For a detailed list of the services included, please visit the service page.
What if my dog has sensitive skin or allergies?
Please let us know before the appointment. We can take known sensitivities into consideration when selecting products and recommend discussing significant or ongoing skin concerns with your veterinarian.
Can I provide my dog’s own shampoo?
Of course! If your veterinarian has prescribed or recommended a particular shampoo, please let us know before the appointment and provide any necessary instructions.
Can I request no fragrance?
Absolutely. Just let us know at the beginning of the appointment if you prefer your dog to leave fragrance-free. Please tell us about any known sensitivities before grooming. We’ll do our best to adjust the products used during your dog’s appointment.
Can you groom multiple dogs from the same household?
Absolutely. Multiple dogs from the same household may be scheduled together when availability allows. Appointment length will vary depending on the services and individual needs of each dog.
What areas do you service?
Snout Dispatch currently serves select cities in Orange County. We do plan on extending our service area to surrounding cities in the near future. If you’re unsure whether your address falls within our route, send us a message and we’ll be happy to check.
What is your cancellation policy?
We kindly ask for at least 48 hours’ notice when cancelling or rescheduling an appointment. Less than 48 hours’ notice: up to 50% of the scheduled service price may be charged. Same-day cancellations, no-shows, or appointments we cannot access: up to 100% of the scheduled service price may be charged. We understand that emergencies happen, and fees may be waived at Snout Dispatch’s discretion.
What should I do before my dog’s appointment?
A short potty break before we arrive is always appreciated. Please make sure your dog is safely secured and ready for their appointment at the scheduled time. If there’s anything we should know about their health, behavior, skin, coat, or recent changes, just let us know beforehand.
Can I stay inside the grooming van during the appointment?
For safety and to help your dog settle into their appointment, owners generally remain outside the grooming van while grooming is in progress. We’ll return your freshly groomed dog to you as soon as their appointment is complete.
